About us Southland Hospital is one of the newest Hospital's in the South Island of New Zealand, providing modern and easily accessible facilities for staff and patients. Southland Hospital is the base hospital for a wide geographical area, creating enormous scope for variety in the work of a talented professional. About the function We are seeking for an accredited specialist Otolaryngologist to provide clinical skills to deliver quality care for our region. You will also assist with the education and supervision of surgical trainees, and medical students. In this function, you will join a full-time colleague located in Invercargill with regular (weekly) additional service support from 5 of the ENT surgeons located in Dunedin who provide general service provision and tertiary support as required. We are seeking for a generalist ENT surgeon able to offer a wide variety of clinical and surgical care for the local adult and paediatric population. In addition, there is a considerable head and neck skin cancer workload. Additional training in this area can be offered if required. The majority of the major head and neck surgery is carried out at Dunedin Hospital at present, but this can be modified to fit with your skill/comfort level in the future. Once fully registered with the NZ Medical Council, the option of private practice would be available in the future. Located in the lower South Island, Southland offers a wide variety of recreational activities. Information technology is home to two of New Zealand's national parks offering opportunities for tramping, internationally acclaimed fishing, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits. Four ski fields are within easy driving distance.
