   » Utilise your strong connections with the M?ori community and your in-depth expertise of Hauora M?ori to promote healthy environments
   » Previous practice in health promotion or community development and excellent connections with the M?ori community is ideal
   » Permanent, 1 FTE (40 Hours per week) located in Invercargill
M? te t?ranga – About the function
This job involves:
   » building and maintaining trusted relationships with communities and other significant health providers to identify and address health priorities
   » collaborating with community, other organisations and sectors to undertake culturally appropriate health promotion mahi
   » working as part of a team with colleagues in Te Whatu Ora and Te Ake Whai Ora.
We are pursuing someone highly motivated who will join our Communities’ team working for the National Public Health Service in the Southern District.
Our team has an equity focus working in partnership with communities. We work in various settings to promote health and wellbeing, reduce inequities and work alongside focus populations to support them in building on their strengths to address priorities.
Our work involves building connections and maintaining effective relationships; you’ll work primarily with communities, particularly building relationships in settings such as marae, and with M?ori providers and community organisations. this function will be supported by our Communities’ leadership abilities team members, including Pou Whakatere and connect with our wider National Public Health Service colleagues.

   » A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and working bi-culturally
   » practice in health promotion or community development
   » A high level of interpersonal and communication expertise
   » practice in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
   » Established relationships with M?ori communities
   » Competent computer expertise and high levels of organisational expertise
   » A full clean driver’s licence.

Utu wh?nui – income range
this function belongs to the Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Multi Employer Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($59,035 p.a) and Step 7 ($83,030 p.a prorata)
