Offer: Public Programmes Specialist:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation practice Wellington Closes 5 Sep 2022 Posted on 23 Aug 2022 Region Wellington Work type Part time employment Work classification Education & Development ShareOur Public Programmes team works together within and across teams internally and externally to develop and deliver a vibrant public programme of talks, lectures, performances, workshops and events, and community partnerships that draws in diverse audiences to understand, enjoy, and form a deeper appreciation of our practices.The function is mainly located at Wellington Museum but also may work across sites such as Space Place, Nairn Street Cottage and Cable Car Museum. We are seeking for a committed, enthusiastic and engaging specialist to develop and implement a range of engaging public practices across our diverse audience groups, with a focus on museum and history practices. We are seeking for someone who has innovative and creative ideas to activate and energise museum spaces and collections, the capability to create programmes which tell stories in new and engaging ways, great networks within Wellington and a keen consciousness of audiences. You will know these practices better than anyone and ensure everything and everyone is in place to provide consistent and engaging practices every time. Your excellent organisational skills will facilitate the smooth running of events and programmes on the ground. You will be excited about the opportunity to open up the collections, objects and skills of each site in a range of events, lectures, talks, performances and other events, and will have good networks with practitioners and potential partners to increase our reach and our audiences. This is an exciting time to join our programming team who are focused on connecting our programmes across our sites, leveraging the diverse skill sets of our people to develop and deliver a vibrant programme that flourishes for and with our audiences of Te Whanganui-a-Tara. practice Wellington works with and for the city to create remarkable practices that generate vitality, strengthening the city we love. We offer incredible audience practices across our six sites: City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi, Capital E N?ku te Ao, Wellington Museum, Space Place, Cable Car Museum and Nairn Street Cottage. We also look after the city's artefact collection, the National Theatre for Children, and are funded by the Ministry of Education to deliver Enriching Local Curriculum practices across sites. The team is excited to be working with Wellington City Council to co-locate Capital E within Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui, the re-imagined Central Library in Te Ng?kau Civic Square.
