The Museum specialises in Maori and Pacific art and is renowned for its cutting edge Contemporary Art exhibitions. As our Community Exhibitions Curator you will promote the knowledge and enjoyment of Porirua's artistic and cultural heritage. In this function you will: » install community exhibitions at P?taka » produce printed labels and materials for community exhibitions » prepare annual exhibition plan and annual budgets » positively interact with the public providing them with information about the exhibitions. All about you You'll need to show us that you: » have knowledge and practice working with diverse cultural communities with a museum or art gallery » are skilled at exhibition display techniques » have the expertise to plan exhibitions and work within budgets » have a passion for cultural heritage and an knowledge of bi-cultural issues. Ideally you will have a background in fine art or art history studies. Information technology is also desirable that you have some knowledge of marketing strategies for online and social media.
