About this function
Reporting to the Director of the Office of the Deputy Secretary, you will provide high-quality, proactive and efficient executive support to the Haut?/Deputy Secretary. This is a busy and diverse function – you will never have two days that are the same. You will take on the function with enthusiasm and your organisation and planning skills will be second to none. Your calm and professional demeanour will shine through at all times, even when things are extremely busy. You will be practiced at knowledge and meeting the needs of the Haut?/Deputy Secretary, and will bring your extraordinary relationship skills to connect with those around you. You will display exemplary initiative, tact, confidentiality and judgement.
If you nurture good working relationships with a wide variety of people, enjoy being a representative of the Haut?/Deputy Secretary you support, have exceptional customer service, then this diverse and engaging function is for you.
About you
You will be an practiced Executive adjunct, preferably to senior levels in the public service. You will be friendly, approachable, calm under pressure, efficient, proactive and have excellent judgement. You will thrive under pressure, with exceptional capability to prioritise the most urgent of tasks and advanced planning and organisational skills.
You will be practiced working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders and will have exceptional relationship management skills. You will work effectively as part of the wider Haut?/Deputy Secretary team to deliver seamless and proactive service to the Haut?/Deputy Secretary.
To be appropriate for this function, you will have the following:
   » Proven skill at managing a complex diary effectively
   » Strong time management and organisational skills
   » Personal resilience and capability to work well under pressure
   » Positive “Can do attitude”
   » Great communication skills
   » A desire to learn
   » A collaborative team approach
   » Attention to detail
   » Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Suite skills, including high degree of proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Teams
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga
