This company has been operating in NZ for a number of years, led by a highly respected GM who gets results. The incumbent in the function has been in place for a number of years and is departing overseas for a new opportunity. They hold a number of significant long-term contracts within both the public and private sector, and have been prosperous in securing contracts in their specialist areas from longer-term players in the NZ market, due to their innovation and management practice. The function We are after an practiced Contract Manager - Facilities, to take on the day-to-day and on-site management of this important contract, to ensure operations run smoothly and that contractual obligations are met. This is a major site in Auckland with significant and diverse business operations across a broad spectrum of connected business activities. About You You will need to have had broad practice in managing complex facilities, and be used to managing a diverse and culturally sensitive workforce, which includes employees and sub-contractors. You will be adept in financial matters, and have the practice and expertise to ensure compliance with significant legislation, including Work Health & Safety, company policies and procedures, quality systems, and client contracts. practice in a unionised environment will be ideal, as is the expertise of statutory requirements in this type of workplace. Your relationship management capcapability will be exemplary, as will your communication expertise across the full spectrum. Nothing will be too difficult! Above all, the Company expects a profitable business operation whilst meeting client expectations, so you will need to be commercially astute and focused on achieving profitcapability whilst delivering top service. About the function Your all-encompassing function will include day-to-day planning, managing industrial relations, service delivery, and ensuring client satisfaction each and every day. This is a very hands-on function that requires ?intimate? overview 24-7 (but you don't need to be there 24-7!!) due to the nature of business operations. From time to time there may be after-hours attendance, but generally Site managers will be on hand to manage these situations. Regular reporting to meet the contract requirements, as well as operational issues back to the company means you'll need the capability to write clear and concise reports.
