About our group and team
The ECE Operational Funding team within the Ministry of Education manages the delivery of operational funding to over 5,000 ECE services, kohanga reo and playgroups in New Zealand, as well as providing high quality advice and support for Ministers and sector stakeholders.

About this function
The Senior Adviser is responsible for ensuring that correct ECE funding entitlements are delivered to early childhood service, kohanga reo, playgroups and other service providers in a timely and accurate manger. The senior adviser will deal with complex enquiries and issues that require specialised knowledge and knowledge for resolution.
The senior adviser will work with the lead adviser to identify practical solutions for current and proposed policy for the ECE funding system.
In addition, the senior adviser will be able to analysis complex problems using advanced analytical expertise and provide an appropriate solution considering the context, risks and challenges. The function requires time critical tasks with resilience and composure when the going gets tough.
