TAPAC, established in 2003, is a vibrant and busy not-for-profit community performing arts hub located in Western Springs, Auckland. TAPAC's key areas of focus are the building of performing arts communities and performing arts education.
TAPAC is seeking a qualified accountant with practice superviseing the financial and accounts of a small/medium sized not-for-profit organisation and a good working knowledge of Xero.
The TAPAC Accountant will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Treasurer and Office Administrator.
This is a part time, time-sheet located position for 20 to 40 hours per month.
Key tasks include:
   » Preparation of monthly financial statements using Xero
   » Variance Reporting
   » Cashflow and earnings Forecasting
   » Review of AR, AP, Bank, General Ledger
   » Reconciliations
The function will be located at TAPAC, Western Springs, Auckland, with work in the house available.

Job responsibilities:
Month End / Year End
   » Month-end responsibilities including review of performance against forecasts, budgets and kpi, balance sheet reconciliations & superviseing fixed asset registers.
   » Preparation of all financial reports, updating of Xero custom reports and add ons.
   » Preparation of cashflow and earnings forecasts.
   » Preparing manual journals as needed and approval of manual journals by others.
   » Approval of fixed asset register entries.
   » Year-end responsibilities including preparing year end audit packs and assisting with the annual external audit.
Annual Budget
   » Coordinates Annual Budget process, October to November.
AR, AP, Banking, General Ledger, Payroll
   » Review of transactions for errors or omissions.
Other
   » Attendance at the monthly Finance Committee Meeting
   » Monthly Stock take of Bar and Café
   » Annual Stock take of Fixed Assets
   » Any other ad hoc tasks
Qualifications
   » University Degree, CPA or CA preferred
practice
   » Have undertaken a similar function in the past
General expertise
   » Excellent communication and organisational expertise, well organised and able to multi-task
   » Computer literacy in all Microsoft Office modules and Xero
   » Strong initiative and self-management expertise
   » A professional and articulate communication manner, and a high standard of personal presentation
   » Confident and task-oriented, and able to work as part of a growing team of arts professionals
