Job Opportunity: Senior Development Engineer – Transportation:FuelAgencyJob description:Job DescriptionThe Northland Transportation Alliance (NTA) is a collaboration between the Whangarei, Kaipara and Far North District Councils, Northland Regional Council and Waka Kotahi (New Zealand Transport Agency) to deliver joined-up transportation services for Northland. This holder of this function will be employed by Whangarei District Council and will be located in Whangarei.About the function: This is a newly created function within the Strategy and Planning team located in the Whangarei offices. Reporting to the Team Leader – Road Safety and Traffic Engineer, you will provide professional advice relating to resource consents and engineering standards pertaining to the roading network. About you: To be prosperous in this function We are seeking for Somebody with excellent communication and collaboration expertise to work alongside our customers and be driven to keep up to date with most recent info in relation to the consent process and engineering standards. You will have well developed writing expertise and capability to produce developed documentation, reports and workflow processes. Travel to other parts of the Northland region may be necessary on an occasional basis. You'll need to be highly organised with an capability to prioritise and work to deadlines, and someone who enjoys being part of a team. The requirements sought of a candidate for this function are: » NZCE, Diploma or Degree qualification in engineering » A minimum of 10 years' practice in Civil Engineering » Specific practice in Development Engineering (subdivisions) would be an advantage » practice in Hearings would be an advantage » Familiar with District Plan Rules, Local Government Act, Land Transport Act » Familiar with AUSTROAD Guide to Road Design and Council Engineering Standards » Familiar with the Safe System Approach and the NZ Road to Zero Strategy » Familiar with Road Safety Audits » Familiar with Safety Management Systems (SMS) for Civil Engineering Road Works » Conversant with NZ Transport Agency standards, guidelines and funding processes » expertise of or a availability to lgain Tikanga Maori » TC Temporary Traffic Management » Drivers licence What we can offer: NTA offers a supportive team environment in the midst of positive transformation and change and engaged in some exciting projects across the Northland Region.
