Mo tenei turanga – About this function
You will be working with a wide variety of stakeholders to help understand, lead and own (amongst other things):
   » the Ministry’s current tools and methodologies. This can include the development of their ten year Property Plan 910Ypp), five year Property Agreement (5YA), condition assessment and other property planning tools
   » support schools in managing and maintaining their school property so that they meet their obligations as outlined in the Property Occupancy Document
   » support the effect delivery of school managed construction projects
   » undertake annual school visits which include a visual inspection of buildings and infrastructure, the documentation of findings, and completing visit records for your portfolio of schools
   » contribute to the general management of the school property portfolio on matters such as, but not confined to, third party occupancy applications, legal land transactions, etc
   » provide support to schools in the event of emergencies, i.e. fire, flood, storms and earthquakes, to ensure property and infrastructure is safe.

income range
$96,598 – $117,175 per annum plus 3% kiwi saver. The prosperous candidate will be appointed at a income which reflects individual expertise and practice.
Mohou ake – About you
To be prosperous in this function you will bring a significant property qualification or practice in Property or Project Management, Facilities Management or related practice in the project management, property management or construction industry.
You will also ideally offer:
   » a track record of bringing people together and leading, coaching and mentoring others to achieve results
   » a proven capability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making
   » excellent interpersonal and communication expertise
   » a commitment to continuing personal and professional development
   » have knowledge and knowledge of legislation and local authority requirements affecting property management.

Matau ropu ake – About our ministry, group, and team
At Te Tahuhu o te Matauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to akonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
