Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for Children is the Ministry that supports the most high-risk children and young people in New Zealand. About the function
The Advisor, Partnering for results position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with and support providers and communities at a regional and local level to improve results for at risk children, families, and communities.
You will be supporting the provision of services to families and communities by developing and managing contracts with those who provide the services. Monitoring of performance will include a strong focus on results being achieved.
Your excellent communication expertise will enable you to engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships. Important to this function is the capability to work in a collaborative and innovative way in cross-agency settings. Knowledge of the coordination, delivery or contracting of social services would be useful.
Crucial to this function is a strong Maori and Pacific focus, a working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Oranga Tamariki, and the capability to establish relationships with and engage with Iwi Maori.
What you will bring:
   » Knowledge of the public sector reporting processes, with an knowledge of the processes required to meet these requirements
   » knowledge of investment planning and contracting
   » Demonstrated capability to build and maintain networks and relationships, both internally and externally and with Iwi/Maori
   » Confidence in the use of computer software used in compiling and presenting information and reports, with the capability to use numbers, statistics, and visuals to represent data as appropriate
   » Sound knowledge of information gathering and reporting processes, with an appreciation of how best to apply such processes to the work of Community
   » Solutions focused approach to mahi
