· Principal Advisor function covering Strategy, Planning and Advice to Senior Leaders including the Chief Archivist and Archives leadership abilities Team

Te Rua Mahara o te K?wanatanga Archives New Zealand sits within Te T?huhu Iringa K?rero, the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department of Internal Affair's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand.
We are seeking for an practiced Principal Advisor in a fixed-term or secondment function until 30 September 2023. Reporting to the Director Strategy, you will work with the Chief Archivist and the Archives leadership abilities Team (ALT) to progress the priorities of the organisation.
You will provide thought and intellectual leadership abilities for the development and delivery of initiatives to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and engagement of Archives NZ. This will include providing original thinking, anticipating future issues, challenging the status quo, and exploring ideas and opportunities that may lead to new and more innovative, creative and effective solutions.
To be prosperous in this function, you will bring:
· practice and a detailed knowledge of the machinery of government, public-sector accountcapability framework, and planning and reporting in the public sector.
· Well-developed strategic thinking and analytical capability.
· Excellent written and oral communication expertise.
· Strong organisational expertise - able to work under the pressure of multiple evolving demands without compromising quality or delivery.
· Adaptable and flexible to manage evolving work programmes.
· Superior problem-solving expertise with a demonstrated capability to quickly understand complex information and systems, and to apply this knowledge to develop effective solutions
· Strong interpersonal expertise – negotiation and influencing expertise, able to adapt style and approach to audience.
If you have practice in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) sector or a Tertiary qualification in a significant discipline that's an advantage, but it's not a deal breaker for the right person.
