Te whiwhinga mahi/The opportunity
As the Pae ?rahi o Te Waharoa you’ll lead a team who are passionate about ensuring M?ori landowners receive great service during the initial contact phase of the application process.
As the name ‘Te Waharoa’ reflects this team is the gateway to the M?ori Land Court for court users. The function has 6 direct reports located in Auckland, and 8 direct reports who are located at different locations around the motu.

Key responsibilities include:
   » leading a customer-focused service culture across all first contact activities
   » proactively responding to Court user issues and ensuring analysis is used to learn, determine cause of issue and improve
   » encouraging and supporting the use of Te Reo and the inclusion of Tikanga practices and protocols
   » establishing and maintaining an environment of consistent practices and procedures through coaching
   » actively monitoring the performance of the first contact function across a number of sites
   » ensuring customers receive consistent information and quality service in every interaction with the Ministry
   » providing technical support and advice to assist with processing, compliance with standardised procedures and effective delivery of services to Court users
   » working collaboratively to allocate work and resources across sites to ensure the prosperous delivery of the overall service practice
   » ensuring consistency of delivery through continuing monitoring of service levels and quality (including technical accuracy, timeliness and efficiency), and take remedial action to address issues and improve services.

To be prosperous in the function you’ll need:
   » Ng? Kaupapa M?ori
   » competence in, or a availability to become competent in, Te Reo M?ori
   » an knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
   » a tertiary qualification (or equivalent practice) desirable but not essential
   » the capability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information
   » well developed verbal and written communication expertise
   » practice establishing a high-performing culture
   » operational management practice, preferably in a customer service environment
   » previous practice in managing and developing the capcapability of employees
   » proven leadership abilities expertise to motivate and lead employees to achieve stretch targets and understand their contribution to the bigger picture
   » a good track record in supporting and implementing changes to business and work processes
   » practice in using a digital workflow system to process work.

The appointing income for this function will be between $103,540 and $146,174 located on expertise and practice.
