My client is large, complex and a key Ministry within the machinery of Government. After having gone through some significant changes that are looking for a Senior Audit Advisor to help deliver on the existing audit plan and to bring an innovative approach to help lift the capabilities and effectiveness of the Directorate.The ideal candidate will be currently operating as a Senior Internal Auditor or someone who is on a path towards Senior. You will have great knowledge and practice within audit, strong commercial acumen and practice and knowledge of the public sector and the machinery of government. Responsibilities » Preparing and presenting reports to the Lead Team, the Audit and Risk Committee and others as required with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. » Where risk has been identified, independent and objective assurance is designed and provided to the business » Manage audits from start to finish (including planning, fieldwork and reporting) » Understand the strategic direction of an organisation and ensure the assurance and risk review services they deliver add value to the business » Maintain audit issue register and follow up with management on open items Requirements » A minimum of 5 years’ internal audit practice » Preferred qualifications include CPA/CA and/or Certified Internal Auditors (IIA) » In-depth knowledge and practice in providing audit and assurance services including: planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting of core business and operational activities » Strong track record in building relationships and stakeholder communications » Presentation and report writing expertise » Data analytics expertise are desirable This is a great opportunity to develop your career and work alongside some practiced professionals to gain exposure across different aspects of the organisation, whilst being compensateed with a supportive team and workplace environment in Wellington.
