The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group (ELSA)
The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand.
About Pathways and Progress
The function of the Pathways and Progress group is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can achieve that for every child and student across school years 1 to 13. The group uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all. The group co-designs and codevelops innovative approaches to achieve policy intentions, plans prosperous implementation strategies and monitors to ensure a return on investment.
About the function
The Adviser supports the administration requirements of the Assessment Design and Tools team to design, develop and implement teaching and learning and assessment initiatives to support students to lift achievement.
About you
The person in this function has practice working at pace and manage set tasks and projects, as well as noticing pressure points and taking the initiative to resolve them. Your personal qualities include taking pride in producing written work and other forms of communication of the highest quality every time, and you have a proven capability to get the job done. You have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people. Your background practice and expertise contribute to the team providing high quality services to the sector and across the ministry.
