we At Presenthave a vacancy for a Senior Press Secretary, located in the office of Hon Nanaia Mahuta, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Local Government and Associate Minister for M?ori Development.
this function requires you to keep the Minister's profile in the media current, through the use of innovative ideas and an broad knowledge of the challenges facing the Minister.
Working in the parliamentary complex will give you the opportunity to be at the heart of issues prior to their public release, showing you can plan and deliver accurately under tight deadlines. You will be working closely alongside the Minister on media matters and giving strategic advice across a range of portfolios that impact all New Zealanders.
A typical day will be spent scanning the Minister's upcoming engagements, planning for and delivering these through the provision of media releases, speeches, media liaison and arranging media interviews.Travelling with the Minister to public engagements will ensure the Minister is prepared for and supported for all eventualities. This is a challenging yet compensateing function where, through your skills, you will see the Minister perform at their best while being under the spotlight.
You will develop, track and deliver a comprehensive and strategic communications plan that not only promotes the Minister's media exposure but also contributes to a unified plan promoting the Government's achievements and ambitions.
You will need to be a team player, receiving information from various sources at short notice as well has sharing information with those that rely on it. Information technology is essential you have an eye for detail and the capability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences through a number of channels.
Your background in media, communications and/or public relations combined with the capability to quickly disseminate and understand the complexities within the Minister's delegated responsibilities will set you up for success in this function. You will be required to hold a security clearance.
