Ministerial Services provides a range of support to Members of the Executive to ensure they have well-functioning offices; can access the resources they need; have access to safe, secure and trusted transport services; alongside co-ordinating arrangements for official visits, commemorations and ceremonies. We operate in a sensitive environment, requiring responsiveness to the needs of Ministers and customers, providing transparency with public money and compliance with legislation.
The Principal Advisor - Culture and Capcapability function is a newly established position focused on working with our people, key stakeholders and partners to ensure that the learning and development needs of Ministerial Office staff are understood and responded to as part of the Department's commitment to creating a Parliamentary workplace where people feel respected, supported, empowered and safe. Reporting to the General Manager Ministerial Services, the position will help to ensure an continuing focus on embedding the lessons from the Francis Review into business as usual practices.
this function has a strategic focus, with responsibility for the design and delivery of learning and development frameworks, leading initiatives that help to drive culture change, and activities that support our people to be prosperous. This is a challenging and compensateing opportunity giving the prosperous candidate an insight into the workings of the Executive Government. Key responsibilities of the function are to:
• supervise and deliver the Francis Review response work-programme
• Design, deliver (or facilitate the delivery of) learning and development initiatives focused on Ministerial Office staff
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to ensure that we hear and can respond to the needs of our people
