This is used as an analogy for the feeding of expertise to learners.
The Hem of Remutaka project is a partnership between CVNZ, Department of Conservation, Taranaki Whanui ki te Upoko o te Ika, and Greater Wellington Regional Council (together, HOR Partners). This three year project will be delivered on the south coast from Eastbourne to Turakirae. The aim of the project is to reinstate the mauri across our ?Hem of Remutaka' landscape by restoring mana, ecological connectivity, restoring threatened coastal and wetland systems, improving public access tracks for hikers and cyclists, and working with the public to increase compliance to support appropriate fishing and diving activities along the Eastbourne, Parangarahu and Wainuiomata coastlines.
The project will involve employing 5.5 full time staff members, and delivering a varied work programme in partnership with the HOR Partners, including tree planting, weed removal, pest animal control, track building and maintenance, and much more. Funding has been granted through Department of Conservation's Jobs for Nature programme.
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning and continuing management of all aspects of the Hem of Remutaka (HOR) project, including managing five staff. this function requires a practical expertise of the requirements to prosperously deliver large scale environment and community projects, working closely with many stakeholders and landowners.
The Project Manager will work closely with the HOR Partners (GWRC, DOC, Taranaki Whanui, and CVNZ) to construct detailed project plans and budgets, including resourcing, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, have sound expertise of Te Ao Maori, and have strong practice in project management, including reporting.
Work days, times and location are flexible (work in the house is an option).
Essential Qualifications & practice
• significant tertiary qualifications or equivalent practice
• practice in managing large and complex community or environment projects
• National Police Check
• Current First Aid certificate (can be obtained after appointment)
This position is part time, 20 hours per week, Maximum Term Contract, through 30 June 2024, located in Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington.
income range: $30-35/hour.
