Every year, more than 100,000 New Zealanders are made redundant and laid off, or have to stop working because of a health condition or discapability. Government are currently seeking feedback on a new way of better protecting workers and the economy: a New Zealand earnings Insurance Scheme. This is your chance to lead the implementation of that change.
Te ?hua o Te T?runga – The nature of the function
As the Executive Lead for the proposed NZ earnings Insurance Scheme you will be accountable for shaping the implementation design and planning, execution and early operation of the scheme if Information technology progresses. Your new function will involve significant cross-sector engagement, working closely with MBIE and other agencies to support Ministerial advice, effective legislation, information sharing provisions, business case management, funding and management of complex interdependencies.
During the implementation phase of the new scheme, you will be accountable for ensuring that business processes, technology and workforce requirements are designed, built and enabled to be available for commencement in December 2023.
With a deliberate focus on equity and honouring Te Tiriti commitments, your function will ensure equity and partnership with M?ori are built not only into the design but the implementation and operation of all elements of the scheme.
Ng? tino P?kenga/Wheako – expertise and practice required includes the following:
   » practice in an executive function within the public sector providing strong strategic leadership abilities and change leadership abilities for a diverse range of stakeholders and employees
   » Strong personal commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity by design, with a track record of effective engagement with M?ori and equity groups
   » Demonstrated capability to understand customer and stakeholder needs and to design or re-design processes to meet desired results
   » practice leading a complex programme of work, ensuring interdependencies are managed and multiple streams of work are integrated to deliver required results
   » Highly developed influencing and relationship management expertise, with practice engaging effectively with Boards and Ministers
   » Demonstrated capability to build and a lead high performing team whilst navigating ambiguity
