   » Lead a team of high-performing specialists to deliver a well-designed, and socialised programme of assurance and audit advice and reviews.
   » Work with leaders across the business to provide assurance and audit advice and services to contribute to the maturity and standard of the Department's control environment and practices, and the effectiveness of its risk and assurance system.
   » Apply your skills and leadership abilities skills across a diverse, complex, and fast-paced environment.
We are pursuing a highly skilled professional to lead a valued Assurance and Audit function in one of the most diverse Public Service organisations. The function supports the Manager – Governance, Risk and Assurance through the provision of internal assurance and audit services and advice.
You'll be part of the Te Urungi – Organisational Strategy and Performance Branch; a small branch with a big job. We provide direction, oversight, and leadership abilities across Internal Affairs around risk assurance, project governance, legal services, and strategic planning. You will work in collaboration with other specialist functions in the branch to ensure the seamless practice of its services.
Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders.
You will have broad practice in leading and positively influencing culture and buy-in to good assurance and risk management in large and/or complex organisations. this function will give you an opportunity to engage with senior leaders across the Department, and some significant and dynamic programmes of work. You will also communicate with credibility and be able to translate your expertise to reach stakeholders across diverse functions. As a natural relationship builder, you will be confident in building the trust of diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.
