Court Victim Advisor at Ministry of Justice
Gisborne Region, full-time position located at the Gisborne Court

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and adaptable person who has the necessary specialist knowledge, expertise and practice to make a major contribution to assisting victims of crime through the court process.
You’ll make an enormous difference to the victims through what you do. You will keep victims updated on the progress of their case and help them participate effectively in the Criminal Justice System.
The function requires you to demonstrate the following:
   » Resilience when Information technology comes to working with people
   » A calm nature and an capability to relate to people
   » An capability to assist people who have been affected by crime and working with stakeholders and community support agencies

To be prosperous in this function, you will be the following:
   » Be a confident communicator with sound judgment and common sense
   » Have strong abilities in creating and maintaining effective relationships
   » Possess cultural consciousness and competencies to enable you to work with all victims and their whanau who are from diverse backgrounds
   » An knowledge of the dynamics of Family Violence and Sexual Violence
   » Have a significant tertiary qualification and/or practice in the sector
