Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori
Revitalisation of te reo M?ori is at the heart of what we do here at Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori. Our mission is to give effect to the status of te reo M?ori as an official language, to promote te reo M?ori as an ordinary means of communication and as a living language, and to lead the coordination of the implementation of Te Maihi Karauna (Crown M?ori Language Strategy).
We aim to create an environment where iwi and M?ori through Te Maihi M?ori can succeed and where the State Sector, private sector and wider community organisations are enabled to help revitalise te reo M?ori. We want all New Zealanders to value the M?ori language as part of who we are, what makes us a nation and is a living language for everyone to enjoy and celebrate - everywhere, every way, everyone and every day.
We are seeking for people with the strategic drive and passion for te reo M?ori to come join us in shaping the culture of our nation by leading the implementation of the Government's M?ori Language Strategy, Te Maihi Karauna.
About the function
Do you live and breathe research, evaluation, both? Do you love working with people, and thrive on applying insights to influence policy advice, projects and strategy? Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori is searching for a Senior Advisor - Research and Evaluation to join our small and growing Research and Evaluation Team.
You will join a talented, collaborative oh? who's work contributes to Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori achieving its mission by offering several different and wide-ranging tasks, including our legislative obligations with the ultimate goal being Revitalisation of Te Reo M?ori. You will have the opportunity to define and conduct research and evaluations that not only inform our ultimate mission, but that also feeds the design, strategy and development of key projects and policy across several government and community initiatives. This will see you working cross-functionally with internal and external teams, contractors and other key stakeholders and geographic locations. Using your research and evaluation expertise we will rely on you to influence and impact our key kaupapa with stakeholders, agencies, departments and the wider public. This is a key function within our oh? and decisions and mahi here have wide-reaching effects not only internally, but beyond our Commission too.
About You
As our Senior Advisor - Research and Evaluation:
You will have the opportunity to impact on several important research and evaluation projects where you can see real change across the government sector; we’re searching for someone to help us identify and understand the questions we need to answer to move toward success and our ultimate goal of the Revitalisation of Te Reo M?ori. An practiced researcher who can support the Lead Advisor - Research and Evaluation shape this small team into a robust and mighty tool for Te Whare o Te Reo Mauriora.
Your function will see you conduct end- to-end research using a variety of methodologies, helping us gain confidence in our knowledge of users, their needs, and the opportunities this uncovers for our efforts.
You’ll be empowered to work with autonomy and creativity every step of the way to enable you to draw on other research programs, people, organisations, and specialties within the wider team to bring additional depth and relicapability to your insights, and effectively represent user research in keypolicy discussions.
