Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori
Revitalisation of te reo M?ori is at the heart of what we do here at Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori. Our mission is to give effect to the status of te reo M?ori as an official language, to promote te reo M?ori as an ordinary means of communication and as a living language, and to lead the coordination of the implementation of Te Maihi Karauna (Crown M?ori Language Strategy).
We aim to create an environment where iwi and M?ori through Te Maihi M?ori can succeed and where the State Sector, private sector and wider community organisations are enabled to help revitalise te reo M?ori. We want all New Zealanders to value the M?ori language as part of who we are, what makes us a nation and is a living language for everyone to enjoy and celebrate - everywhere, every way, everyone and every day.
We are seeking for people with the strategic drive and passion for te reo M?ori to come join us in shaping the culture of our nation by leading the implementation of the Government's M?ori Language Strategy, Te Maihi Karauna.
About the function
Are you passionate about information management (IM) and seeking an opportunity where your expertise and contributions are truly appreciated, and you are fully supported and encouraged to develop professionally to progress to the next level?
Do you want to be a part of our small and motivated Corporate Services team that provide organisational wide functions that support the revitalisation of te reo M?ori for all New Zealanders?
As the Information Management Advisor, you will deliver a range of IM services connected with managing public records, documents and published resources. You will be seeking opportunities to implement continual improvements within the IM space while promoting and advising staff on best IM practices.
You will take the lead on data and information strategy, including transformation projects aimed at supporting the business and driving value from our data and information assets.
We prioritise the wellbeing of our people, offer- flexible working arrangements, opportunities for advancement, training and further learning, a 37.5 hour working week and additional financial allowance for reaching Te reo M?ori proficiency levels.
About You
You will hold a significant qualification or have at least 5 years of practice within an IM environment.
You have sound technical knowledge and practice with archives and records management systems along with a working knowledge of significant legislation applicable to IM and an knowledge of public sector governance and obligations.
You have demonstrated success in delivering IM solutions, supporting change, influencing, and managing positive relationships at all levels and proven capability to present sometimes complex information to a range of audiences.
Ideally you will already have a proficiency in and an knowledge of tikanga M?ori and te reo M?ori. If you are just a starter on that journey and have a availability to learn, we would still welcome your application.
