Founded in 2000, Enjoy is a leading independent art space located in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Enjoy provides opportunities for emerging and established arts practitioners to develop new and innovative work to reach inclusive audiences, and promote critical discourse around contemporary practice in Aotearoa. This kaupapa is carried out through exhibitions, an annual residency, offsite projects, public programmes and publications.

The Managing Director will be responsible for realising Enjoy's strategic vision through all aspects of the organisation's relationships, including our commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This includes developing and delivering a fundraising programme that nurtures a diverse range of supporters, engaging key stakeholders, finance and operations management, managing staff, and reporting to the Enjoy Trust.

Enjoy is a highly collaborative workplace. As Managing Director, you will work closely with the Curator (Exhibitions and Public Programmes), the Communications and Publications Manager, a team of gallery volunteers, the volunteer Board of Trustees, and artists to deliver a brave and lively programme. You will have people management, administrative and financial responsibilities. You will also need to be resourceful, organised, knowledgeable and dedicated to contemporary art practice.

Previous practice working within a gallery or a similar function, knowledge of the arts sector in Aotearoa, demonstrating a commitment to te ao M?ori and mana whenua relationships, and excellent communication expertise are essential. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with artists, funders and community stakeholders, and will undertake this function with foresight, agility, care and integrity.

This unique opportunity will enable the right candidate to bring their vision to the gallery, work with practitioners of all backgrounds, and help shape Enjoy's path for the next three years.
