Job Description

Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
The positions sit within Te Arom?tai Whakatutukitanga | System and Agency Performance Group which supports the Commission's vision and objectives for the public service by ensuring we have strong leadership abilities and governance of public service and public sector agencies.
As a Principal Adviser in the group, you will have a key leadership abilities function in providing high-quality analysis and advice to adjunct and Deputy Commissioners to enable the Commission to lead and influence improvements, now and in the future, at agency, sector and system wide levels.
You will also directly lead engagement to provide support and advice to departments and Crown entities across the public service. This includes engaging with and providing guidance to Boards and Commissioners of Crown agents and other statutory Crown entities.
In this function, you will work with practiced leaders to shape the public service. You will also get exposure to a wide variety of issues impacting the direction and performance of the public service and public service agencies. Your work will make an important contribution towards creating a leading edge, unified, trusted public service that serves Aotearoa.

The Principal Advisor function usually pays between $121,380 to $149,940 depending on expertise and practice.
