About this function
The Lead Advisor Wellbeing Support will work closely with Ministry staff, community providers, schools and communities to establish the counselling initiative in selected schools in our region. The Lead Advisor will build connections to other wellbeing supports in schools and the community. Once the support is established, the focus may include the implementation of other wellbeing initiatives.
The Lead Advisor will do the following:
   » Manage relationships between schools, providers and other key stakeholders to identify service priorities and provide regional oversight for the management of contracts with providers
   » Lead on establishing and implementing the counselling initiative across selected schools in our region
   » Share information across diverse stakeholders to inform quality programming and improvements
   » Support the integration of quality counselling services in diverse school environments and build connections with other wellbeing supports provided in schools and the community
About you
You will bring your practice working on other wellbeing initiatives, particularly with younger children in the school environment.
Your strength will be your capability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders to establish new initiatives in diverse environments.
Your added value would be your networks, particularly with M?ori and Pacific communities.
You will have excellent project management expertise, with the capability to deliver projects on time and be flexible to respond to the changing needs of communities as they emerge.
As a Lead Advisor you will have a passion for working with schools and Ministry staff to support an inclusive education system that meets the needs of all ?konga.
To be prosperous in this function you will need the following:
   » Require a passion for working in a team that prioritises working with schools on ?konga mental health and wellbeing
   » Be passionate about diversity and demonstrate your capability to work with M?ori and Pacific communities, and ?konga with learning support needs
   » Seek opportunities to tailor the initiative to meet the diverse needs of communities and continuously make improvements so that Information technology has the best results for ?konga and their wh?nau
   » Prioritise building great relationships and partnerships with people at all levels of the organisation
   » Have a team mindset and flexibility to work across multiple workstreams to achieve the group results and priorities
   » Adapt to working in a fast-paced environment
   » Have excellent communication expertise, written and verbal
   » Have the capability to apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
   » Actively support healthy and productive relationships between schools, Ministry staff, communities and providers to achieve the best results for ?konga and their wh?nau
