You'll inspire others, enable voices to soar and help others to hear from your communities loud and clear. Your ideas will be supported by the WORD team. We are so excited about the possibilities! WORD values the importance of community and multiple voices. We'd love to even further extend our programming team to amplify the beautiful diversity of ?tautahi. We'd like to hear from those who can bring fresh perspectives and voices from Aotearoa and around the Asia-Pacific region. As our Programmers-at-Large will be flexible contract functions, we will try our best to fit around your other commitments. We will consider partial remote working for the right candidate but we'd like you to be in Christchurch 21 - 27 August 2023, the week of the festival. Our 3 Programmers-at-Large will: » Research, design and plan up to 3 sessions alongside and in consultation with the Programme Lead of the Festival with an agreed focus » Work with the whole WORD team to develop new ways for audiences and writers/artists to engage with the festival » Work with the Programme Lead and the wider WORD team so that they have everything they need to arrange the logistics of your sessions. This will include some production meetings, and lots of chats » Work within an agreed budget for your sessions to cover artist fees, any significant accommodation and travel costs for writers traveling to Christchurch, any translation costs and any special production costs » Be a WORD PAL - act as an ambassador for WORD in public » Communicate openly any programming conflicts of interest with the team as we work together. WORD Christchurch will contract the writers and arrange all travel and accommodation. We will work with you to collect all significant information for the writing of the programme, PR and social media promotion from the writers. Want to hear more, or apply?
