• Our client delivers healthcare supply chain solutions by using the best technology, systems and people, allowing those at the frontline to focus on delivering healthcare. The company processes more than 2.5 million lines a year, employs over 130 staff and has a catalogue of almost 22,000 medical and pharmaceutical consumables.
• located at the Auckland Head Office, this is an exciting opportunity for you to take on the function of Account Manager in a well supported commercial team environment.
• Highly regarded in the market, this employer is part of a larger group too, with exciting expansion plans to relocate in mid 2024 from the City edge to new South Auckland premises
function overview
• Due to the incumbent retiring, a handover is planned, and you will then be the first key contact for DHB/Hospital customers, dealing with escalations in your capacity as Account Manager and be integral, along with your Manager, for Business Development
• No out of town travel, face to face visits to Hospitals and private sector clients as needed, primarily an office located function
• Given the size and small number of clients, this is more of a Relationship Management function than Sales
General Tasks:
• Support business development direction, in conjunction with significant internal stakeholders
• Main escalation point for key customers
• Provide health sector stewardship and ensure company is kept abreast of all significant activities in the sector ie Pharmac. NZHP, government changes, regulatory and legislation changes etc
• Internal advocate for the customer, presenting opportunities to improve the customer practice and improve on links commercial returns
• Attend company (employer) Customer meetings
• Take a leading function in customer facing projects
• General administration/comms tasks (SAP /Excel is used)
Business Development:
• Develop a deep knowledge of health sector strategies (public and private) to determine future funding streams and opportunities for the company to grow
• Work with Management on : How to improve profitcapability of existing customers ; Price and cost modelling for new customers ; responding to tenders and RFPs

• Will have Account Management practice
• Medical product knowledge within a Clinical environment
• Be comfortable in using Excel & ERP systems (training on)
• Negotiation expertise
• A savvy, professional candidate with a high level of business acumen
