The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is embarking on a transformational change that will deliver a new service model enabled by new capabilities, systems, and processes. MSD is the lead agency for managing and delivering New Zealand's welfare system, which includes public employment services on behalf of the Government, and the primary provider of social policy and advice to Government. As part of this change, MSD is building a Digital Employment Service Platform (DESP) that will not only enhance MSD's digital service for employment but also transform the effectiveness of MSD's wider employment services. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to work with MSD and help shape the future of our employment service to New Zealand and New Zealanders. About The function this function is required to work at the direction of the DESP Transformation Manager & IST Programme Director and will perform the delivery leadership abilities for the MSD Technology workstream of the DESP initiative. They will be responsible for providing planning, co-ordination, and reporting, as well as ensuring appropriate governance is in place, across the delivery of up to 30 team members within the Improvement Systems & Technology (IST) group over the next 18 months. This team will perform the design, configuration, and integration of MSD systems into the DESP as well as the decommission and disengagement of replaced solutions. The function of Senior Information technology Project Manager will require practice and expertise in managing the project management aspect of delivery alongside scrum and agile delivery management and technical leadership abilities. expertise And practice We are pursuing an practiced and confident delivery manager who has worked as part of a multi-workstream programme, involving organisational and operating model change. Their expertise will encompass core project management activities such as planning, financial management, risk and issue management, reporting and governance of significant workstreams.
