We are seeking for Seasonal Sample Collectors to join our Team located around the Bay of Plenty (Waihi Katikati Tauranga Te Puke Whakatane Opotiki) for the upcoming Kiwifruit season. Our branch operates 7 days a week during the kiwifruit season and collects and tests samples of kiwifruit from orchards to see if they meet the Zespri guidelines for export. We will have two types of fixed-term samplers : » Core Samplers - Potential to work up to 6 days per week (generally 10 - 30 hours/ week) » Part-time Samplers - Potential to work up to 4 days per week (this will be more of a 'supplementary' function but availcapability across 7 days of the week is still preferred) No practice is necessary and full training is provided. The function this function is for a fixed-term period with seasonal work starting at the end of February ramping up in March and running through to May/ June. The busiest times are impossible to predict but are generally concentrated in March and April. tasks will include driving to orchards and collecting kiwifruit samples (on foot) and then driving the collected samples to the nearest drop off point. You will be working variable hours per week. Works starts at daybreak (around 6am) and will generally be finished between midday and 2pm. Samplers will be assigned their work for the following day between 5-9pm. Samplers may work alone or in pairs. this function will be ideal for someone looking to supplement their earnings that has the flexibility of hours required. this function will suit practical people who enjoy working outdoors. Potential candidates may be orchardists looking to observe other orchard operations but industry practice is not mandatory. expertise and practice: » Good map reading expertise » capability to work within set timeframes » Good with technology » Flexible with hours and a good communicator who is happy to work unsupervised » Clean driving history full Class 1 driver's licence Candidates are expected to have a good level of fitness you will walk up to 16km per day and collect kiwifruit samples weighing up to 15kg from under pergola structures 1.7-1.8m tall.
